The Yonex Arcsaber Z-Slash was eagerly anticipated. Many players couldn’t wait to try it and see what it could do. The racket was met with mixed opinions. Some people hate the colourful graphics, they thought it was ugly. But more importantly did the racket live up to the expectation? In this review we will cover the racket, and find out whether it lives up to the hype.
Given all the noise about this racket and especially the design, I was expecting quite a flashy design racket. However, I didn’t think it was that flashy and seemed quite similar to the other rackets in the Yonex range.
I ordered the racket from Amazon and when it arrived I was really excited; it almost felt like Christmas. After a first glance, I really like the design of the racket. It isn’t as flashy as people claim. After all, how important is the design of a racket?
Testing the Arcsaber Z-Slash
The first thing you notice about this racket is how head heavy it is and the string tension. After a few hits, I realised how powerful this racket is. It’s actually shocking, the amount of pace you can get on the shuttle with this racket. It’s definitely a power machine.
I was keen to try the defence in this racket, to see how it would do especially compared to the other rackets in the range. The Arcsaber was great in defence, it moved very quickly in the air. I managed to get some really high lift with some of the shots due to the extra weight in the head of the racket. Any players that enjoy a heavier racket will love this.
To fully test this racket I decided to try some net play with my partner, I found the racket to be extremely fast around the net. Due to its aerodynamic design, the racket flew through the air with absolute ease. The design is simply awesome.
I can definitely understand why some people didn’t like the racket immediately. It’s very different to anything that I’ve ever used before. It’s something that takes patience. It takes a lot of practice and honing of your skills to really understand what this piece of kit can do it. Perhaps it is the longer shaft or a shorter handle? It definitely is shockingly fast and sometimes difficult to handle. The rallies were intense.
Without a doubt, this is one the best rackets are very used and possibly the best in the market. It definitely rivals the Voltric 80. These two racquets are definitely is to very similar in performance levels. I absolutely love this thing; it’s beautiful.
This is positively a racket for the more experienced players and not for beginners.
It’s a racket that possesses rocket like speed and an immense sweet-spot that caresses the shuttle with absolute ease.
Throughout the testing, I let a few other professionals have a hit with it and they were shocked by the power. They all loved it.
Yes, it’s very expensive and isn’t for everyone. It takes quite a bit of getting used to; to really understand what it’s capable of. Overall, it’s the most expensive racket on the market and it’s one of the best. Yet again, Yonex have delivered a top quality product that will last a lifetime. This is the ultimate racket to take your skills to the next level and beyond.
