One of the finest in existence… The 1894 $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle offered here graded Gem MS65 by PCGS. This rarity has exquisitely smooth fields of amber-gold and beams with spectacular original mint luster. The intricate details of Libertyâ€s hair and coronet are sharply defined, as are the Eagleâ€s feathers. This Gold $20 Liberty has tremendous eye-appeal and will absolutely be the focal point of any high end registry set. There is a mark towards the top of the obverse of the coin.
Only a handful of these Double Eagles graded as high as MS65 Gem. Current PCGS population shows only 11 graded MS65 and none graded higher. This $20 Liberty is among the finest from this mintage and is extremely difficult to find.
