Proform 810 TR Treadmill Review – How Does the 810 Tr Stack Up?
Should you invest in the Proform 810 TR treadmill or not? When you look online it can be hard to come to determine this–because there are many contradicting reviews.
Be WARY about who you listen to
Many sites that review this and other treadmills are really affiliates of the company… although they don’t promote this fact. Also, the sites where the customer reviews are mostly positive usually just HAPPEN to be the sites that sell it.
In other words…
You need to be careful about who you get your info from. With that disclaimer–here is an “unbiased” review of the 810 tr.
Price
Let’s face it-cost is often what drives people to buy a Proform. They’ve never been known for their quality or customer service… but the one thing you can always count on is cheap prices. This model sells for $800-which is sort of “middle of the road” for the company.
Power
It has a 2.25 “continuous horsepower” output which is actually quite good. Many other company models have just 1.25 or 1.75, so this is quite a step up. However, it’s still a stretch to say the Proform 810 TR treadmill has enough power to allow running.
Walking area
This is a very respectable ’20’ by ’55’ inches, which allows taller exercisers to use it quite comfortably.
Max weight
It can support people up to 325 lbs… again quite impressive.
Features
This model has a ‘daily log’ system that allows you to keep track of every workout. But of course, a pen and paper can accomplish the same thing-and without adding anything to the price. It also has the infamous ‘iFit’ system. This allows you to go online and automatically download a customized workout right onto the machine. This is a cool feature… but again it’s something that can be easily accomplished on your own. Why pay extra for it?
Warranty
This is where this machine really falls short. The 15-year warranty on the engine is adequate but just 12 months for parts is a joke. Of course, this is better than the typical “90 day” parts on most of the companies’ models-but still is not going to cut it.
Quality
This is admittedly not one of the best built machines on the market-one of the main reasons for the short warranty. The inferior quality-along with the lack of power-render this nothing more than a “walkers” machine.
The bottom line…
If you are only going to be walking then the Proform 810 TR treadmill will get the job done… but if you plan on running than you will require something more serious.
