The forehand chop is a defensive stroke in table tennis where you impart backspin on the ball to make it hard for your opponent to attack. You use this shot when you are back away from the table and your opponent has played a topspin stroke.

The key points are to stand slightly side on, start at around head height, and finish down around knee height.
