Smarter, not necessarily harder, training gets you to the big time in this sport. You also have to be cognizant of how you are planning your long runs and recovering from those efforts. Faster paced long runs will recruit more fast twitch muscle fibers helping you to better cope with race pace. Long runs are some of the best treadmill running workouts you can do.
