Features
Depending on the specific model, Proform XP treadmills have a variety of different features. Some of these features include:
Adjustable Incline- To customize a workout, many Proform XP treadmills have the ability to manually adjust the incline of the treadmill. This affects the number of calories burned per workout, and allows for a more customizable workout experience.
Speed Adjustment- In order to appeal to a wide variety of fitness levels, Proform XP treadmills usually include the ability to adjust the speed of the treadmill. This allows for a slow “warm-up” walk, a jogging endurance workout, and then a “cool-down” period. Most Proform XP treadmills allow for a 0.1 mph (mile per hour) increase or decrease in the speed of the treadmill.
iFit Live- Some of the Proform XP treadmill models also include a feature called “iFit Live”. This feature allows a wireless connection between the treadmill and the internet. With this feature, a person is able to have customizable workouts that mimic the experience of running on trails all over the world.
In addition to this, it allows for a customizable fitness program that also grants the ability to work out with the guidance of Jillian Michaels. By linking with Facebook, iFit Live allows a person to have 5k competition races with their Facebook friends. The iFit Live system also has the capability to aid in designing a nutrition tracker, a progress tracker, and downloadable workout videos.
Reviews
Most customers are pleased with the features and capabilities of the Proform XP line of treadmills. So far, the iFit Live feature has been subject to positive reception, though the iFit Module does need to purchased separately from the treadmill. A laptop computer is also required in order to make full use of iFit Live. Many people state that the Proform XP treadmills are able to meet a wide range of fitness needs, and are able to be used even by people just starting a fitness program.
Some people stated that assembly of some of the Proform XP treadmills was a bit difficult, though many people didn’t seem to have a problem with it. A few reviewers also stated that a loud clicking noise was present in the engine after repeated use, though was able to be easily repaired.
